Even with this week ending a day early (for my vacation), the Astros eight farm teams had 45 games over a six day period. Greeneville led the way going 5-1 (6-2, over-all) in their first full week. Round Rock, 2-4 (35-45); Corpus Christi, 0-5 (0-6, second half); Lancaster, 2-4 (2-4, second half); Lexington, 3-3 (3-3, second half0: Tri-City, 2-4 (4-8); GCL Astros, 2-3 (3-4); DSL Astros, 2-3 (8-16)
The Farmstros Five for the "week" of June 24-29, 2010:
Angel Gonzalez, LHP, 21, Greeneville. In his second start of the season, Gonzalez pitched six hitless innings. He struck out four before being removed for pitch count reasons. You can read more about his outing here.
The Other Four:
Marcus Nidiffer, 1B, 23, Greeneville. Nidiffer was 9 for 20 with three doubles, two home runs and five RBI.
Dieudone Paul, 22, LHP, GCL Astros. Paul pitched eight scoreless innings over two relief appearances. He allowed six hits and struck out nine.
J.D. Martinez, 22, OF, Lexington. Martinez keeps swinging and connecting for the Legends. For the week, he was 8 for 23 with two doubles, three home runs (in three consecutive games) and seven RBI.
Zach Grimmett, 20, RHP, Lexington. In two outings, Grimmett allowed six hits and no runs over 6 2/3 IP. He struck out six.
