In the weeks to come, the Astros brass will be forming their 40-man roster for the 2011 season. Part of this process will entail looking over the Rule 5 eligible players and potential minor league free agents and deciding who merits the protection of the 40-man roster.
The Rule 5 eligible players:
Albert Cartwright
Koby Clemens
Collin DeLome
Drew Locke
NOTE: Tri-City's Jorge DeLeon and Carlos Quevedo are Rule 5 eligible as well. While they won't need protection in the Major League phase of the Rule 5 Draft, I wonder if they will be moved up to the AAA or AA roster to protect them in the minor league phases.
