Seven Dominican Astros of Note:
EDITOR'S NOTE on June 1, 2011: I just got the official DSL roster, and of these seven only Ferreira and Solano are in the Dominican. I assume this means the others will show up in the Gulf Coast League or Greeneville in a few weeks. More once those rosters are made public.
Max Ayarza, IF, 19(age as of May 29). Ayarza will be in his third season for the DSL Astros. He batted .260 in 150 at bats in 2010.
Jean Batista, IF, 19. Batista makes his pro debut this summer. His signing last summer received quite a bit of attention.
Fredwin Campusano, IF, 19. Campusano batted .326 in 89 at bats in 2010.
Luis DeLa Rosa, IF, 19. DeLa Rosa batted .270 with 12 stolen bases in 64 games in 2010.
Edgar Ferreira, LHP, 18. Ferreira made his pro debut in 2010. He made 10 appearances striking out 14 and posting a 2.70 ERA in 16 2/3 innings.
Jose Montero, RHP,18. Montero had a 2.59 ERA in 2010, his first pro season. He made 13 starts, pitched 55 2/3 innings and had 48 strikeouts.
Jose Solano, IF, 19. Solano batted .276 with 20 RBI in 2010.
