Who is Juri Perez?

Juri Perez is making his first start for the Lexington Legends tonight. Perez missed most of 2010 after undergoing Tommy John surgery in October 2009. The 20-year old right-hander spent 2009 with Greeneville in the Appalachian League. After the season, he was rated the 31st best prospect in the Astros system by Baseball America. BA also ranked Perez #10 in the Appalachian League for that season. He had a 2.79 ERA with 60 strikeouts and 19 walks in 51 2/3 IP for Greeneville. He made a few appearances for the GCL Astros near the end of 2010, while rehabbing his arm. Tonight he makes the leap to Lexington.
