With Kody Hinze reportedly set to join the Hooks in time for their Thursday game this week at Whataburger Field, it is now finally official that it is Alyson Footer's world, and we are all just living in it.
Several weeks ago, shortly after Jose Altuve was promoted to AA, Footer, the Astros Senior Director of Social Media, blogged her plans to visit the Astros AA affiliate in Southeast Texas and take in a few games July 7-9. Since that announcement, the Astros have also added catcher Chris Wallace to their roster. In addition, Dallas Keuchel and J.D. Martinez are still in AA (maybe they are waiting until after Alyson's visit to head north to Oklahoma City?).
A quick look at what Footer will see on the Whataburger Field after driving her Toytoa Rav 4 down 59 South and taking a left at Victoria:
1B- Kody Hinze
2B or 3B- Jose Altuve
SS- Jonathan Villar
2B or 3B- Jimmy Paredes
OF- JD Martinez
OF- Jacob Goebbert
OF- TJ Steele
DH or OF- Jon Gaston
C- Chris Wallace
Further,depending on how the rotation is worked, she will see Dallas Keuchel take the mound (his final start as a Hook?) on Friday or Saturday.
I hope she can find the time to at least send us a postcard.
