Apparently, Ovando and Batista Like July

Ten days into the month, two of the Astros most highly touted Latin American imports are having impressive Julys.

Ariel Ovando injured his elbow on opening day for Greeneville. However, the 17-year old outfielder is now back in the lineup for the G-stros on a regular basis. So far in July, Ovando is 8 for 23 with two doubles, one triple, five RBI and four runs scored. He has raised his season average to .333.

Jean Carlos Batista is making his professional debut in Kissimmee, Florida with the Gulf Coast League Astros. After a slow start, the 19-year old shortstop is 9 for 21 in July. In six games this month, he has one double, two triples, one home run and nine RBI, while raising his season average to .306.
