Wates Drives in runs that Hinze Left Behind

Kody Hinze took his 22 home runs and 70 RBI from Lancaster to Corpus Christi after Tuesday's game, but thanks to Austin Wates, nobody at Clear Channel Stadium seemed to notice. A 2010 draft pick, Wates led the JetHawks to wins in their first two games without Hinze. On Wednesday and Thursday night, Wates was a combined 5 for 7 with three doubles, one home run and seven RBI. For the season, Wates is batting .309 with five home runs, 50 RBI and 14 stolen bases.
