When Brett Wallace joins his Oklahoma City RedHawks teammates this week, his web of connections in the Pacific Coast League will increase again. Oklahoma City will be the fourth PCL team that Wallace has played for in a little over two seasons.
Wallace, 24, was drafted by the Cardinals in the 1st Round of the 2008 draft. He reached AAA Memphis during the 2009 season, only to be traded to Oakland at the trade deadline. This trade a move to Sacramento. In Sacramento, he played 44 games for current Oklahoma City manager Tony DeFrancesco. Following the 2009 season, Wallace was traded to Toronto. In 2010, before being traded to the Astros, Wallace played 95 games for Toronto's AAA affiliate, Las Vegas, the first team that Wallace is scheduled to face as an Oklahoma City RedHawk.
As an added PCL bonus, Wallace spent one day as a member of the Round Rock Express in 2010. He was assigned to the Astros' AAA affiliate after being traded from Toronto. However, by the time Wallace arrived at the stadium in Oklahoma City, where Round Rock was playing at the time, Lance Berkman had been traded and Wallace had been promoted to Minute Maid Park.
