Van Hekken to Make 350th minor league appearance
Oklahoma City Andy Van Hekken's start tonight against Colorado Springs will be his 350th appearance as a minor league appearance. Van Hekken who made five major league starts for the Tigers in 2002 (including a complete game shutout in his debut on September 3), has not been back to the big league since. His 349 appearances to date include several seasons in independent leagues. Van Hekken, in his fourth season in the Astros' organization, has been the RedHawks' most consistent pitcher this season, both as a starter and a reliever.
