Steve Vedder of the Grand Rapids Press has the story about Andy Van Hekken pitching for the USA in the World Cup and the Pan Am Games this October. Van Hekken, who posted the second-best ERA in the Pacific Coast League for Oklahoma City this season, will also be pitching in Venezuela this winter after partaking in these two international competitions.
The World Cup will be held in Panama from October 2-15, while the Pan Am games are slated for October 20-25 in Mexico.
