With all signs pointing to a league switch for the Houston baseball team in the not too distant future, a quick look at one of the Astros' sports neigbors reveals that such a switch can have a positive result.
After playing in three coference championship games and winning two MLS cups as part of the league's Western Conference, the Houston Dynamo made the switch to the league's Eastern Conference for the 2011 season. Despite, losing Dallas as a inter-state conference rival and facing early start times against new Eastern Conference foes such as Columbus, Ohio, Washington, D.C. and Toronto, the Dynamo advanced to the MLS Cup for the first time in four seasons.
The Dynamo are slated to face the Los Angeles Galaxy Sunday, November 20 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. The game will kick off at 8 pm(Minute Maid Park time).
