The "Wild of the Future" are Going MOvember Too
It appears that minor league hockey players can grow moustaches to promote men's health awareness too.
Throughout this month, Farmstros has been keeping up with Jimmy Van Ostrand's facial hair. Van Ostrand, a first baseman in the Astros system, is participating in a project called MOVEMBER. Van Ostrand and others are letting their beards and moustaches grow all month in hopes of "Changing the Face of Men's Health".
As witnessed by the video above, Van Ostrand is joined in this venture by a few hockey players who lace up their skates just down the street from Minute Maid Park. The video was produced by the Houston Aeros , a minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. The Aeros play their home games in downtown Houston at the Toyota Center.
