The Astros are bringing Cesar Cedeno back into the organization in 2012. Cedeno will be the hitting coach for the Greeneville Astros in the Appalachian League. Cedeno was a Gold Glove outfielder for the Astros. He wore a star from 1970-81. He also has 10 seasons as a coach in the organization, most recently in 2001.
Oklahoma City's new hitting coach, Leon Roberts played in the Astros' outfield as well. Leon Roberts played in the Astrodome in 1976 and 1977. He was traded to Seattle after the 1977 season for infielder Jimmy Sexton.
The Astros announced their entire minor league staff today via a press release. New managers will be found on the bench for three of the Astros' eight affiliates in 2012:
Corpus Christi- Keith Bodie replaces Tom Lawless(Now a roving infield instructor)
Lancaster- Rodney Linares moves up from Lexington.
Lexington- Ivan DeJesus- The former Cubs coach and shortstop joins the Houston organization.
