Six representatives of the Astros' organization presented a bi-lingual storytime for children and their parents at the Cy-Fair College Branch of the Harris County Public Library. Jeff Luhnow(pictured above) and Alex Trevino shared a baseball-themed book with the audience in Spanish. Jed Lowrie, J.D. Martinez and Brad Mills completed the slate by reading a book in English. Bill Brown kept the appearance rolling.
Since they were surrounded by books, the presenters shared their favorite books:
Bill Brown- The Bill James Historical Baseball Abstract.
Jed Lowrie- The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. Lowrie is a fan of all of Dan Brown's work. However, he is searching for a good novel to read at the moment if any one has any good ideas.
Jeff Luhnow- Luhnow couldn't pick out a specific favorite book, but he said he has read The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss to his children countless times.
J.D. Martinez- Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
Brad Mills- The Bible and As a Man Thinketh by James Allen.
Alex Trevino- Ball Four by Jim Bouton.
Pictures from the event are posted here.
One of the librarians at the event, Paula Gonzales, was wearing a vintage rainbow uniform she borrowed from her husband's closet.
