GRAND Opening for the JetHawks' season, thanks to George Springer
NOTE: The above audio was received from the High Desert announcer, William Calvert, and used with permission. I tried to get the JetHawks' audio, but they had some technical difficulties that made their audio unavailable.
If George Springer was looking to make an impression in the first game of his first full season as a professional, HE DID! Springer, who the Astros' drafted out of the University of Connecticut, hit a Grand Slam with two outs in the top of the sixth inning of the JetHawks' season opener against High Desert.
To add to the suspense of the moment, Springer's blast came off of a full count pitch. The slam tied the contest at seven; however, the JetHawks went on to lose the game, 9-7.
