Houston's Baseball Future Will Meet its Past in OKC Tonight

Jordan Lyles shouldn't be surprised if his pitching opponent tonight, Tim Redding, looks familiar. Ten years ago, Las Vegas' Tim Redding was in approximately the same spot Lyles is in now, the brink of becoming a full time starter for the Houston Astros.

Redding, scheduled to start for the 51s against Oklahoma City tonight, split the 2002 season between New Orleans(AAA) and Houston.  He made 14 major league starts that year, before spending the entire 2003 season in the Astros' rotation.  Redding, who the Astros' drafted in 1997, was traded to San Diego after the 2004 season for Humberto Quintero.  He finished with 21 victories and 72 starts in his Astro career.
