This is How a Pitching Prospect Makes a AAA Debut

Trevor Bauer, 21, who the Diamondbacks drafted third over-all out of UCLA last summer, faced the Oklahoma City Red Hawks in his first start as a AAA pitcher on May 18.  In the outing against the Astros' AAA affiliate, Bauer went eight innings, allowing four hits, and one run.  He struck out 11 while walking just one batter.  Bauer wasn't quite as impressive in his second start for Reno Wednesday night, walking five batters. However, he did make it through five innings allowing just one hit and one run.  Bauer's ERA in AAA is 1.38.
Bauer's performance is a stark contrast to the AAA debuts of three of the Astros' young throwers this season:
April 22- Ross Seaton, 22.  4 2/3 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 86 pitches
April 30- Brett Oberholtzer, 22.  5 1/3 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 64 pitches
May 8- Jarred Cosart, 21(he turns 22 tomorrow, May 25). 6 IP, 10 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 5 K, 99 pitches

Those five walks from Bauer seem a bit troubling considering that is the area Arizona brass wish to see improvement. I appreciate the update though as I hadn't seen how Bauer had performed in his second start.
