Singleton to Represent Astros in Futures' Game

Corpus Christi first baseman Jon Singleton has been named to the United States roster for the 2012 edition of the MLB Futures' Game.  The contest is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 8 in Kansas City, two days before the MLB All-Star Game.

Singleton, 20, has 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 67 games for the Hooks.  He has a total of 26 extra-base hits, a .274 batting average and a .487 slugging percentage.  Singleton was acquired by the Astros from Philadelphia last summer in the Hunter Pence trade.

According to the list of previous Futures' Game participants, seven current Astros(including players on the disabled list) have been a part of the game in its first 13 installments.  Jose Altuve was the club's 2011 representative.
