Four players that the Astros picked in the 2012 draft are participating in the College World Series. They will be able to sign with the Astros once the tournament end. The CWS will be completed on June 25 or 26.
Here's a summary of the quartet:
2nd Round-Nolan Fontana, SS and 7th Round-Preston Tucker, OF, Florida.
Eliminated June 18.
In two games in Omaha, Tucker was 3 for 8 with one double and two RBI. Fontana was 1 for 6 with two runs scored.
8th Round-Tyler Heineman, C, UCLA
Eliminated June 19.
In three games in Nebraska, Heineman was 1 for 10 with one scored.
20th Round-Michael Clark, LHP, Kent St.
Eliminated June 21.
Clark appeared in one of Kent State's three CWS games. He retired one batter and walked three, allowing no runs and no hits in the Golden Flashes win over Florida Monday. In that contest, he got Fontana to pop out and walked Tucker.
