According to Zachary Levine(@zacharylevine) on Twitter, the Astros have announced that outfielder D'Andre Toney is the Player to Be Named Later in the trade that sent Jason Bourgeois and Humberto Quintero to the Royals during spring training. The Royals drafted Toney in the 14th Round of the 2011 draft out of Gulf Coast CC. The Astros also received reliever Kevin Chapman, currently with Corpus Chriti in the deal. However, they had to wait until a year after Toney had been signed by Kansas City to officially announce Toney as the second player acquired. According to Levine's tweet, Toney will begin 2012 with Greeneville.
After sigining with the Royals, Toney,20, spent 2011 in the Arizona Fall League. He batted .340(51-150) with 12 doubles, five triples, five home runs, and 29 RBI. Baseball America listed him as the 19th best prospect in the 2011 Arizona Fall League. He was drafted by the Marlins out of high school in 2010, but did not sign.
