Springer, Doran Have Carolina on their Minds

George Springer and Bobby Doran will be making the trip to Winston-Salem, North Carolina next week to represent the JetHawks and the California League in the California League vs. Carolina League All-Star Game.  The game, pitting stars from two of baseball's three High A leagues is scheduled to take place Tuesday, June 19 at the home of the White Sox High A affiliate.
Springer has batted .291 thus far in his first full season as a professional after being the Astros' first round pick in 2011.  He has nine doubles, six triples, 11 home runs, 41 RBI, 49 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 56 games.  Springer was selected by the Farmstros Village as the Player of the Month in May.
Doran had a 3.99 ERA entering his 13th start of the season Monday night.  In his second campaign with the JetHawks, he has allowed 73 hits and struck out 51 in 70 innings.  According to Jason Schwartz, the JetHawks play-by-play announcer, Doran is slated to start for Lancaster Saturday in their final game before the all-star break. As a result of this, he will likely not pitch in the game in North Carolina.
