2012 Farmstros Five- Week 14(Short Season Edition)

With the short season schedules well underway, this week's Farmstros Five focuses on those players who are competing for the Astros four short season affiliates, Tri-City, Greeneville, GCL Astros and DSL Astros. 

Here is the Farmstros Five(Short Season Edition) for the week of July 5-11, 2012:

The Top Performer:

Adrian Houser, 19, RHP, Greeneville.  Houser pitched seven scoreless innings in his first start of the week and picked up his first win of the season in the second.  Over-all on the week, he allowed two runs and 10 hits, striking out 14 in 13 IP.

The Next Three

Michael Feliz, 19, RHP, GCL Astros. Feliz pitched eight innings in his start.  He allowed four hits and one run.

Elieser Hernandez, 17, RHP, DSL Astros.  Hernandez, in his first season as a pro, pitched seven innings in his one start this week.  He gave up five hits and one run.

Yonathan Mejia, 19, IF, GCL Astros.  Mejia was 11 for 26 with one double, one home run and six RBI for the GCL Astros.


Who is the Farmstros Five #5 for Week 14?

Andrew Aplin, 21, OF, Tri-City. Aplin was 9 for 24 with two doubles, two RBI and two stolen bases.

Blake Ford, 24, RHP, Tri-City. Ford had two saves in three appearances.  He allowed no hits or runs in three innings, striking out three.

Terrell Joyce, 20, Greeneville. Joyce was 11 for 23 with two doubles, one home run, six RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases for the G'stros.

Jesse Wierzbicki, 23, IF, Tri-City. Wierzbicki was 9 for 20 with one double, two home runs and four RBI.
