After Friday night's win, Tri-City has a 24-8 record and is threatening to run away with the Stedler Division title of the New York-Penn League. One key to the Valley Cats' start has been the solid work of their starting rotation.
A total of seven pitchers have made starts for Tri-City to this point: Vincent Velasquez(6), Aaron West(6), Brady Rodgers(5), Brian Holmes(5), Joe Bircher(5), Juri Perez(4), and Lance Day(1). Over 32 starts, these pitchers have posted a miniscule ERA of 1.93. The combined statistics of the Tri-City rotation? Innings Pitched-158 2/3; Hits allowed-130; Earned Runs Allowed-34; Walks-42; Strikeouts-139; WHIP- 1.08.

It certainly starts with the starters, but the impact of 'finishing with the finishers' shouldn't be underestimated either...
