2012 Farmstros Five- Week #19

Here is the Farmstros Five for the week of August 9-15, 2012:

The Top Performer:

Edwin Villarroel, 17, LHP, DSL Astros. In two games, Villarroel allowed no earned runs and 11 hits in  10 innings.

The Next Three:

Daniel Minor, 21, RHP, Greeneville. Minor pitched seven innings of one-hit shutout baseball, striking out 11.

Mike Foltynewicz, 20, RHP, Lexington. Foltynewicz pitched seven scoreless, giving up four hits and striking out six.

Preston Tucker, 22, OF, Tri-City. Tucker was 10 for 19 with two doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI.

Who is the Farmstros Five #5 for Week 19

Edison Frias, 22, RHP, GCL Astros. In two outings, Frias pitched 14 1/3 innings, gave up 11 hits and two earned runs.  He struck out 11.

Frederick Tiburcio, 21, RHP, Greeneville. Tiburcio pitched seven scoreless. He surrendered four hits and struck out seven.

Robbie Grossman, 22, OF, Corpus Christi. Grossman was 9 for 23 with three doubles, one triple, one home run and three RBI.

Jon Singleton, 20, 1B, Corpus Christi. Singleton was 7 for 25 with four home runs and 11 RBI.

Carlos Correa, 17, SS, GCL Astros/Greeneville. Correa was called up to Greeneville during the week.  Over-all, he was 9 for 25 with two doubles.

Brett Oberholtzer, 23, LHP, Oklahoma City. Oberholtzer made two starts.  He pitched 14 innings, gave up 10 hits and three earned runs.  He struck out 11.
