Clint Frazier 6'0"/190 OF R/R
Loganville HS (Loganville, Ga.)- University of Georgia commitment
DOB-09/06/1994
Frazier is by far my favorite HS player coming into this
draft. He is a five-tool guy who plays the
game with grit. Some scouts say he has
the most explosive bat in the draft with plus to plus plus power and very good
bat to ball ability.
Clint pairs amazing
bat speed and plus power with really good speed, posting 6.4 times to first
base. He isn't as big as fellow Georgia
prospect Austin Meadows, but Frazier consistently performs at high levels . His speed and plus plus arm make
him a lock to stay in CF. He is already
a very well built athlete and just needs to keep getting better as he
goes.
This is a bit of a weird
comparison, but I like to think of Frazier as a more athletic Craig Biggio. Everything I read about Frazier indicates that he is a
true ballplayer who leaves it all on the field.
Frazier finished second at in the Under Amour All-America
Game home run derby held at Wrigley Field. He was said to be
the most impressive slugger in the showing, logging the longest distance and shortest time to impact with the stands. The only negative statement I've been able to
find is that his swing has a slight hitch, but it's difficult to argue with his
results. Deep down I hope the Astros
take Frazier 1-1, and he will definitely make a case to come off the board
fast. My guess is that he will selected
in the first five picks in the 2013 draft.
You will find Clint obliterating the ball at 2:17. It will give you a great idea of his bat speed and power.
